‘Woolly Club’

With our knitting club: ‘Woolly Club’ we ended up at Annemie Koenen. As soon as we entered we felt like we were in heaven!
Beautifully colored wool and yarns, which Annemie then processes into hats, collars and wall hangings.

On to the attic where we discussed exactly what we were going to do. Each had a skein of wool. We decided to dye the two spare skeins first, as a test.
We had 101 questions, but Annemie spoke firmly to us, because the first pots had to be turned on at 11 a.m. We made 2 different dye baths “ocean” and “flames”. After about an hour we could see what the result was…….Oooooh whauw!

Now it was up to us to make color combinations. A little more purple, a little more yellow and black, our color palette continued to expand.

We started a dye bath twice more. In the meantime, those 101 questions were still being answered.

All the dye was taken home and we will experiment with it ourselves.

Thank you Annemie for this inspiring workshop.
