I’m trying to imagine Mom as a 10-year-old. It is war.
The people are poor.
Where did she find the things she used to make and dress her paperclip doll? And what did that look like? I can only guess and give my interpretation.




It remains exciting to discover a certain zeitgeist in the photos. A photo can be very different than it appears. For example, I see Aunt Mina in a family photo of Karken, but that is not the same branch. I do research to a certain extent and find it very interesting what I discover. But if it gets stuck, I’ll move on to the next pages.
The frame of this communion photo has roses. In any case, I need some color now.
